What is Meta-Stat Profile?
The Metastat Profile is a collection of specific markers that are detected in specific organs. Primary tumor cells that have the ability to metastasize will express specific genes and proteins according to the organ that will metastasize, and this is given by genetic information.
Use of the Exam
This Profile provides information based on CTC markers on and where the tumor is likely to metastasize (Lung, Brain, Liver, Bones, etc.).
This test uses patient blood samples that are analyzed with two different methods for precise export of results
1.) Real-time PCR that detects the levels of these genes in specific markers
2.) Flow cytometry that indicates the levels of protein produced by these exact genes.
The results are compared with a control sample and provided in the following format:
